The Galway Topology Colloquia series was founded in 1997 at the National University of Ireland Galway by Aisling McCluskey (NUI Galway) and Paul Gartside (University of Pittsburgh).

A nearly complete list of previous Colloquium announcements can found on the Topology Atlas. During 2015 and 2016, the Galway Topology Colloquium was a one-day conference attached to the Summer Topology conference series. Last year it returned to its customary more relaxed, expansive and informal 3-day format.
