An Introduction to Khovanov Homology: Old Results and the New Ones
Mahan Moazzeni (McMaster University)
Khovanov Homology, introduced by Khovanov in the late 90's, is a bi-graded homological invariant for the classical knots. It is a categorification of the Jones polynomial and surprisingly is strictly stronger than Jones polynomial. In this talk I will try to introduce Khovanov Homology in a quite accessible language and talk about some recent results about it. Ultimately if time permits, I will talk about the generalization of Khovanov Homology to virtual knots. All the works and papers will be cited accordingly to the original authors.
If you would like to get emails about the Zoom link and information for the talks, you can fill out the form below. You can also let us know if you would like to give a talk. (feel free to also email any of the organisers!)
