GT for Grads is a hybrid (in-person and online via Zoom), inter-university seminar organized by graduate students in geometry and topology for graduate students.
On a weekly schedule, usually Fridays 2pm, someone gives a talk on a GT-related topic for about 45 minutes. The talks are going to be fairly casual and informal, expository, and not-necessarily an original work of the speakers. The goal is to help GT students get in touch with their colleagues across the world, help them to get informed about each other's current research, and make potential collaborations possible.
If you are at McMaster, join the talks in HH410, at Western come to WSC187. For Waterloo it is TBA.
We have a mailing list to keep everyone informed about the updates, a YouTube channel to access the past talks, and also a cloud drive to access presentation slides.
The organizers are a group of students at three universities (Mahan; McMaster U., Adrian; Western U., and Francisco; U. of Waterloo) ready to host the talks each week (the host university might be different each week, depending on where the speaker is present). The speaker and audience can be present at any of these universities and at the same time anyone from other places can participate online via Zoom. The Zoom link will be distributed via e-mail to everyone.
The organizers of this seminar are
Mahan Moazzeni (moazzm2@mcmaster.ca),
Adrian Chitan (achitan@uwo.ca), and
Francisco Villacis (fvillacis@uwaterloo.ca).
You can email us if you have any questions, specially if you are interested to give a talk. You can give a talk online, or be present at any of the host universities.
