West Middle School Gifted Learning Teachers

Elizabeth Riedl

Gifted Learning Teacher

West Middle School

Hello!

I’m Elizabeth Riedl and I am honored and excited to work with the GT students at West Middle School. This is my twelfth year of teaching; I started in northern Illinois at a college prep high school, then taught GT students in the Houston area for seven years. I love gifted students because I never know what they’re thinking, but it’s always exciting, interesting, and usually deep. My husband and I moved to Colorado in November 2022 and we love the welcoming people and the beautiful environment. Our oldest child is a child and adolescent licensed counselor and lives in LaCrosse, WI. Our son is a microbiologist and lives in Pittsburgh. Our daughter lives in Littleton, and she’s a pediatric occupational therapist. I love hiking the trails in my new state on foot or on snowshoes. I love to read and write and am a published author.

Educational Philosophy:

Learning is a lifelong endeavor. As a teacher, I strive to wake that inherent want in my students: to learn. I will not ever know the effect I have on students' lives, but by keeping a safe learning environment and modeling values and skills, my student share ideas, take risks, and learn to be the best version of themselves.
