Jasmine's Silver Award Project
Jasmine's Silver Award Project
By:Jasmine Castillo
Hello! I am Jasmine Castillo, and I am eager to share my experience with you about my Girl Scouts Silver Award Project. I established a "Care Closet" at my school, Quail Valley Middle School, which is filled with essential items for both girls and boys, such as toothbrushes, deodorant, and pads. The Care Closets aim to assist individuals with their puberty by providing them with what they need. They can access the Care Closet during passing periods and get what they need. It took me almost the entire school year to plan and construct the Care Closets. Initially, I thought it would be impossible to complete this project, but with the support of my librarian (Mrs. Brumley), nurse (Mrs. Joseph), counselor (Ms. Henry), principal (Dr. Udi), and our troop leaders (Mr. & Mrs. Castillo), who encouraged me along the way, I found the courage to begin working and completing it. Reflecting on this project reminds me that even the most ambitious projects can be achieved with dedication, a supportive community, and commitment to making a positive impact. I hope that my project will help the students navigate puberty with ease.
