PLEASE NOTE:
The Greater St. Louis Shetland Sheepdog Club proudly presents the following member breeders, but does not guarantee the services, quality, or health of the puppies or dogs. It is up to the purchaser to question if both parents have been health tested and what guarantees are offered as to the health of the puppy being purchased.
There are four main health concerns in the Shetland Sheepdog breed, but not
limited to: hip dysplasia, thyroid disease, Von Wildebrand's disease aka vWD (a bleeding disorder), and eye defects.
Puppy buyers need to be aware of these issues and ask if the parents of the puppy have been screened for these defects. This will not "guarantee" your puppy/dog will be free from these diseases but will give you a better idea that your new puppy may not develop these defects as they mature.
