Introduction

Publishing means naming your URL and making your website changes public for people to access.

Choose your url and publish

1. Select the Publish button on the top of the page.
2. Your url will be https://sites.google.com/view/ plus the additional words you type. While you input possible url text, Google will check it to make sure that the url is not taken.
3. Select Publish.

If you want your URL to reflect the latest changes then remember to press Publish every time you make a new change.

Important tip

Choose a URL that you will be happy with in the long run. Exclude things such as the year, grade level, school name, or your last name if you will change it any time soon. Try to keep your URL short and easy for people to remember. If you are unhappy with your URL, you can always go to Publish > Publish settings and choose a different url.

Sometimes we share files that others might be able to edit. These instructions explain how to remove others from accessing the files.

Remove others from accessing your site

1. Find the website folder in your Google Drive.
2. Right-click it and select Share.
3. Select Share.
4. You will see under the text box that it is shared with someone other than you.
5. Click on Shared with whomever's name.
6. You will see the full list of who has access to the folder. Remove another person by clicking on the X.
