Hi! I am Gegam Shagbazian. I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Market Studies and Spatial Economics at HSE University in Saint Petersburg.

I obtained a PhD in Economics from the University of Padua in 2021.  After completing my PhD, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Tor Vergata University in Rome and the University of Padua. 

My research interests lie at the intersection of industrial organization, public economics and health economics, focusing on the impact of government intervention on firms and market outcomes. In particular, I study how industrial policies related to procurement, trade, and health regulation, influence innovation, firm growth, pricing, and market structure. In my research, I use large firm-level datasets and advanced econometric methods to draw causal inferences, providing relevant, data-driven research for policy purposes.
