GSCC will take place on UIC's East Campus that is between Harrison (north end) and Taylor (sound end) streets and Morgan (west end) and Halsted (east end) streets.
All talks will be held in _____ which is will be circled below on the map.
Please visit UIC's Travel and Visit Guide for general travel information.
Below you will find a campus map and general advice.
If you are flying into Chicago, we recommend flying through O'Hare International Airport (ORD). The Blue Line train has a stop on the north side of campus (pictured below) and has one terminal stop inside the airport.
Midway Airport is another option. One can take the Orange Line train from Midway towards the city, but you will have to transfer to get to the campus.
One can take the Orange Line into the "Loop" and get off at Washington/Wells and then take Bus #60 west. The Bus #60 stops on the north end of campus on Harrison Street at 900 W Harrison.
One can also take the Orange Line to Roosevelt & State and take the Bus #12 west to Roosevelt & Morgan. You will then have a 10-minute walk on Morgan Street to reach the southwest corner of campus.
If you take Metra or Amtrak into Chicago, both Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center can be reached from the UIC campus by Bus #60.
A greyhound station is right across the highway from the UIC campus. One can (10 minute) walk between them, but also the Bus #60 and Bus #7 can be taken.
There are two parking structures that one can park at which are on the map above. Both parking structures do come up on Google Maps, but addresses are below just in case;
The Halsted/Taylor Parking Structure is at 760 W Taylor St, Chicago, IL 60607.
The Harrison Street Parking Structure is at 1100 W Harrison St, Chicago, IL 60607.
Near the UIC campus there are restaurants both on Taylor Street (south of campus) and Halsted St. This area is where we recommend going for lunch during the conference. Try to split up into multiple groups to not overwhelm these smaller restaurants.
