The 44 Engineering Robotics Group

We are the 44 Engineering Robotics Group. A minortiy team based in the historic Acres Homes Community in Houston. Our name refers Metro Bus Route 44 and its historical significance to the African American and minority community in which our school was found in Acres Homes. The 44th Metro Bus Route would provide the only reliable means of transportation into downtown Houston for minorities that lived in Acres Homes.

In our 2022 Rookie Season competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), we won the Rookie All-Star Award at our District Championship and capped off our successful season with a win as the 2022 Rookie Inspiration Award at the FIRST World Championship here in Houston!

Now in year 2, we are laser-focused on reaching the World Championships again and will need the support of our community and friends to build a competitive robot, support our many community outreach and mentoring events, and help us cover the expenses associated with running a highly competitive, world-class Robotics Team.
