Solar power is important because it gives us clean energy from the sun without polluting the Earth. Unlike burning coal, oil, or gas, solar power does not make smoke or harmful gases that hurt the air we breathe. The sun shines every day, and we can use that light to make electricity for our homes, schools, and cars. Solar power also helps us take better care of animals, plants, and our planet, so future generations can enjoy a healthy Earth. It’s like using a giant, never-ending battery in the sky!

We need the earth's ozone layer to protect our skin. Each year a “hole” forms in the ozone layer over the South Pole. It isn't a literal hole, and you cannot see it with your eyes. Check out these resources to learn more!
Net Zero Emissions means that for all of the greenhouse gasses that are produced by an individual, business, or country, an equivalent amount is removed from the atmosphere. This is considered to be THE most important thing we can do to reduce global warming.
Rivers supply us with fresh water for drinking and farming and help produce clean electricity through hydropower. Rivers also provide drinking water for wild animals and a home for many different kinds of animals and plants.
