THE 2025 SPRING SHOW 

 

Grove Village Hall, Saturday 5th April 2025. Open to the public at 2 pm.



Division A - VEGETABLES

 

Class

DIVISION  A - VEGETABLES

Class 1

1.     4 Stems of ‘Natural’ Rhubarb (straight, tender stalks, leave blades trimmed back to 75mm/2.95 inches).

2.   1 Spring Cabbage with 75mm/2.95 inches stalk remaining, head to the front.

3.  3 Leeks (washed and with roots untrimmed and teased out).

4.  Any other brassica. 



DIVISION B – FLOWERS

Class

     5.   1 small vase/jam jar of flowers, 3 stems, mixed or single variety.

     6.   3 Vases of Garden flowers, 3 distinct kinds of flowers, in separate vases, with 3 blooms or stems in each vase.

     7.    1 Vase of 3 blooms of single-headed Daffodils – any variety except multi-headed.

8.   1 Vase of 3 stems of multi-headed Daffodils, any size.

9.   1 Vase of 3 stems of Wallflowers.

     10.  1 Vase of 5 stems of Tulips, mixed.

  11.  1 Vase of 5 stems of Tulips, single variety.

     12.  1 clear Vase of not more than 6 stems of flowering shrubs or trees – one or more variety.

     13.  A container of cut flowers not listed in the schedule.



DIVISION C - POT PLANTS

Class

14. One potted Polyanthus or Auricula.

15. A Pot Plant, Floral.

16. A Pot Plant, Foliage.

17. One outdoor container planted up to look good from the front – up to 508mm/20 inches diameter or square.

18. A Bowl or Pot of Bulbs – indoor or out.

19. A Pot Plant – Succulent or Cacti. 


DIVISION D - FLORAL ARRANGEMENT

Class

20. A Basket of Spring flowers, no larger than 508 mm/20” inches diameter or square. Accessories can be used. 



DIVISION E - BAKING & PRESERVES

Class

21. 1 Quiche - own recipe no larger than 200mm/9” inches.

22. Lemon Drizzle cake – see recipe in schedule.

23. 5 Savoury Scones - own recipe.

24. Swiss Roll - own recipe.

25. 5 Chocolate Chip Muffins - own recipe.

26. A Pot of Jam.

27. 5 Easter Biscuits - own recipe.

28. A Pot of Chutney with screw lid, at least 8 weeks old. 



DIVISION F – PHOTOGRAPHY

Class    

29.  Native Wildlife.

30.  Reflections on Water.

31.  Glorious Sunsets.

32.  Spring Theme.

Print sizes must be no larger than 15cm x 20cm (6” x 8”) 

     


DIVISION G – CRAFTS

Class

33. One Cross stitch item.

34. A piece of any other Handicraft. 

 


DIVISION H – CHILDREN’S CLASSES

Class

35. 3 Decorated Cup Cakes – own recipe (state entrant’s age).

36. A Lego Model of your own design (state entrant’s age). 



SPECIAL NOTES FOR THE SPRING SHOW

1. All Daffodils and Narcissi are classed as one kind of flower.

2. All baking must be covered with cling film.

3. Awarding of trophies at the show will be around 3.30 pm. 



HOW TO ENTER THE SPRING SHOW

1. Detach and complete the entry form in the centre of this schedule.

You can also use the back of this form if you need extra space or if a second person wants to put in some entries.

2. Entry forms must be with Debbie Watson by 7.30 pm, Monday 31st March. The address is on the entry form.  

Note: Late entries are dealt with entirely at the Show Secretary’s discretion.

3. The Hall will be open at 8.00 am for exhibitors only but you must leave by 10.15 am when the show judges arrive – so make sure you leave yourself enough time for setting up.
