Stacey Sylva

Lead Vocals, Backup Vocals

Biography

Stacey has been working in the local Detroit music scene for many years. Some of the groups she has worked with are Moose and Da Sharks, The Lafayettes, and The Misty Blues. She is currently involved with two girl groups, The Sharkettes, and The Birdland Babes.

Some National Artists she has worked with are Little Eva, Peggy Marsh, Johnny Preston, Kenny Rogers, and Red Wings Organist Lance Luce.

Her studio work includes commercial jingles for local radio stations, as well as working with artists such as Roscoe Records and Bus Stop Poets.

Stacey studied music at Western Michigan University, Oakland University, and Macomb Community College. She enjoyed participating in Gold Company, Macombers, and Chorale groups during those years.

Some theater productions she has been a part of are Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as the Narrator, Oklahoma as Laurie, and West Side Story as Maria.

Stacey has taught K-12 music and also has been a vocal coach for many years.

She appeared on WDIV Channel 4 with The Lafayettes and performed for NASCAR with Moose and Da Sharks.

Throughout her musical years, Stacey has been a soloist and Worship Leader in her church community. She is very grateful for all the opportunities she has been blessed to be a part of.

Cassie Peckens
Lead and Backup Vocals

Meet Cassie, daughter of the talented lead singer Stacey. A high school musical star with a passion for indie and alternative music, she is now exploring new horizons as a backup vocalist for Ground Crew—Detroit. Her favorite theater credits include Belle in Beauty and the Beast and Anya in Anastasia. She is a proud ferret mom to Milo Magnus McGuffin and Cherry Rose Chutney.

Ned Doerr

Biography
For the past 35+ years, Ned has been performing nationally with country music artists, as an opening act with his band Red Ryder, or as a “Hired Gun” for emerging country artists. Based in Michigan, he also collaborates remotely as a studio musician.

Doug Hamborsky
Guitar, Keyboards, Backup Vocals

Before Karaoke or air guitar, Doug would carefully craft replicas of George Harrison’s famous Gretsch guitar or John Lennon’s Rickenbacker from cardboard and pretend to be the 5th Beatle in front of friends, family, and the occasional mirror.  At age 12, he discovered his first real stringed instrument, a plastic Ukulele!  Once he found a real guitar (2 more strings), there was no turning back.  Born into a highly musical family, Doug was surrounded by creative influences.  His sister attended The Julliard School and Mama played piano.

From the early days of playing classics by The Beatles, Chicago (Terry Kath), Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Eric Clapton, and even James Brown, he has always enjoyed a diverse catalog of hot, cool, fun music.  From his days at Reford High in the great horn band ‘Flight’, to a smoking hot soul band from ‘The’ Cooley High in the ‘D’ up to the present day, Doug has performed with some great local acts including Bugs Beddow, Flight, Jocelyn B, Danny D, Bill Meyer, Street Life, and the incorrigible and loveable Space Cadets. Known for inspired flaming guitar solos and sincere, fun-loving audience engagement, let’s just say the fact that the word ‘ham’ is part of his name may not be an accident.  From his home recording studio, he continues to enjoy making music with some of the hottest musicians in Detroit. 

Victor Spicer
Drums

Vic Spicer is a show business veteran who started dance lessons at the age of four and a half.

He’s performed hundreds of different shows while growing up. USO shows, television shows like Starlit Stairway, Oopsey the Clown, Romper Room, and as a model on Jacki Crampton’s Tops in Fashion.

Later he performed in My Fair Lady, Funny Girl, and toured England and Scotland in West Side Story.

Besides acting and dancing, Vic is a drummer and has played in many bands, touring and recording.

One of the songs he helped write “So We Jam” by The Lordz was the first all-animated video on MTV back in the ’80s and played on Rate A Record with Dick Clark on American Bandstand, and at CBGB’s in New York. Today Vic still plays in a successful cover band “Vavoom”.  As a producer and director for Vic Spicer Productions Vic has directed hundreds of TV commercials, music videos, political ads, and industrial films.

Gary Wilkinson
Bass, Backup Vocals

I discovered music in elementary school when I played the trumpet in the school band. A significant event that changed everything for me occurred on February 9, 1964. By chance, I caught the Beatles’ performance on the Ed Sullivan Show. By the time the show ended, I was a changed young man. I couldn’t believe that just four guys could create such amazing music. It ignited my passion and altered the course of my life.

I sold my trumpet and bought a blue metal flake Tesco guitar, as well as a Crestwood Beatle bass. I joined my first band, The Crescendo’s, a wedding band, and ended up playing hundreds of weddings before I even had a driver’s license! The Crescendo’s eventually transformed into "Family Portrait" as the members progressed through high school, shifting into a hard rock band. As disco became popular, we adapted our style to include disco music, which provided great jams for a bassist. Eventually, we evolved into a versatile bar band and played for many years.

Next, I was part of "Yesterday's News," an oldies band featuring two very talented female guitarists. This experience led to even more bar appearances. I then joined "Three Way Street," a kind of power trio that also resulted in numerous bar gigs filled with great music, turmoil, and laughter.

In 2015, I joined The Red Ryder Band, the best group of talented musicians I’ve ever been associated with. They could do anything and had a wonderful catalog of original songs.

My next band was the "Motor City Wranglers," a solid four-piece that played more bars and parties, focusing on country and oldies music.

Finally, I became a member of "Ground Crew - Detroit," an incredible collection of talented and experienced musicians.

In addition to the aforementioned bands, I have also participated in worship bands at several local churches for the past 20 years.
