Ground Crew Detroit was born from a rare and enduring musical bond. The band’s foundation began in the Detroit area when a group of high school friends formed the horn-driven band Flight and became a well-known presence in the local music scene. More than 40 years later, a reunion performance reignited their friendship.

What began as a nostalgic reconnection soon evolved into something more purposeful: the previously unfulfilled desire to write, record, and perform original music together. Honoring their aviation-themed roots while embracing their Motor City identity, they became Ground Crew Detroit, a name that reflects both musical precision and pride in their hometown.

The band sought powerful female vocals that would expand their range and elevate their sound. They found exactly that in Stacey and Cassie, a powerhouse mother-daughter duo whose experience, harmony, and stage presence immediately completed the lineup.
