A "transitive" verb is just an action verb that has a direct object. Direct objects also go on the top line with the subject and verb.
Here's a transitive verb sentence and its diagram: Lillie loves pancakes.
Lillie is the subject, loves is the verb, and pancakes is the direct object (what Lillie loves).There are more examples (with modifiers and everything) included in the practice sheet below.
