One staple of the American marketing industry for the latter half of the 20th century was cereal premiums. Offering fantastically cheap "prizes" was a way to entice children into harassing their parents to buy them sugary sweet breakfast cereals.
Predating the "Monster Cereals" (Count Chocula and Frankenberry) by just a few months, Alpha-Bits prominently featured the Groovie Goolies. The back of the box included a cutout poster of Hagatha the witch, Boneapart the Skeleton and Wolfie the werewolf, and inside was a set of give-away stickers that featured Drac in his bat form, Frankie's and Boneapart's heads, a ghost and a spiderweb.
Cereal boxes usually get pitched out with the trash, so finding one of these boxes complete is pretty rare, although the cut-out poster and stickers do surface from time to time.
