Soon, however, the things that crawled out of the dark holes in the world would find her Haven, and it would be a fight to ensure her brain remained in her skull, and not in the stomach of one of the horrific creatures at the cathedral doors, and that neither her or any of her sisters were dragged off to the nests to birth their next generation.

This did not stop the buzzing hoards from swarming her home though. The lucky ones simply had the insects suck out their brains. The unlucky ones were carried away. How long could someone like her last, or was she doomed when she heard the first rustle of wings?
