Not great! Reception is spotty on the drive and around Rand. Once you’re onsite, Verizon users typically get 1–2 bars and AT&T gets a bit more.
Tip: Preload maps, screenshot directions, and save any important info before you hit the road.
Nope—welcome to unplugged bliss! There is no Wi-Fi on site.
We’ll be using a text messaging service to share important Camp Osman updates before and during the weekend (think food & drink menu, schedule reminders, weather notes, activity details, etc.).
Messages will come directly to you, not in a group thread, so your phone won’t be blowing up with replies from 80 other campers.
A few things to know:
The number may look unfamiliar and might be a short 6 digit number rather than a traditional phone number.
Our first message will clearly reference Camp Osman so you’ll know it’s us.
You can reply “STOP” at any time to opt out. That said, this will be our primary way of sharing timely camp information, so opting out means you may miss important updates.
We promise not to spam you, just the good stuff.
Expect warm days, cool nights, and the possibility of short afternoon monsoon-style showers. The ceremony will be in full sun.
Bring: sunscreen, a hat, bug spray, and a light jacket for evenings
Rand sits at 8,629 ft.
At higher altitude you may:
Get winded faster
Dehydrate more quickly
Feel the effects of alcohol much sooner (cheap date alert!)
Drink plenty of water, take it slow the first day, and enjoy responsibly. If you’re sensitive to elevation changes, if possible fly into Denver/ Eagle area a day or two earlier, acclimate then make your way up to the higher elevation.
A tiny ranching community founded in 1881, with a whole lot of charm and not a whole lot else. There's a gift shop, a post office (since 1883!), and big views.
Walden—25 minutes north—is the closest town for gas, groceries, supplies, and restaurants.
Nope. We are literally in the middle of nowhere.
No shuttle service. If you stay off-site, you’re responsible for transportation.
Please don’t drink and drive—we’d love to have everyone safe and celebrating.
No, the closest options are in Walden (25 mins).
But don’t worry, we’re providing food, booze and beverages for all meals all weekend. Feel free to bring anything else you'd like. We'll also have a small Mercantile where you'll find snacks, toiletries and other neccessities to get us through the weekend.
We are so excited to celebrate with you in the clouds! Since we’ll be at high elevation, the air is thinner, the sun is stronger, and the drinks hit a little harder. To make sure you’re feeling 100% for the "I Dos," here’s the game plan:
Start drinking extra water now. No, seriously, right now! High altitude is incredibly dry.
The Goal: Aim for double your usual water intake starting two days before you arrive.
Pro Tip: Pack some Liquid I.V. or Nuun tablets. They are literal lifesavers for mountain altitude "hangovers".
One drink at this altitude feels like two at sea level. We want you on the dance floor, not under the table!
The Rule: Drink one full glass of water for every alcoholic beverage.
Pace Yourself: The buzz will find you much faster up here, so take it slow.
At this elevation, you can get a sunburn in about 15 minutes (even if it’s chilly or cloudy!).
Pack: High-SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, and lip balm with SPF.
Dress: Temperatures drop fast once the sun goes behind the peaks. Bring layers! A warm layer for the evening is a must.
Your body needs time to adjust to the lower oxygen levels.
Listen to your body: If you feel a headache or a bit dizzy, grab some water and take a seat.
Carb Load: Your body actually burns carbs more efficiently at altitude—so enjoy that extra bread or pasta!
If you’re packing your bags, make sure these are tucked inside:
Advil/Tylenol (for the "Altitude Ache")
Electrolytes
A reusable water bottle
A puffy jacket or warm fleece
Saline nasal spray (trust us on this one!)
Yes! We reserved the entire campground. You can tent camp, car camp (without hookups), or bring your van/overland setup. Just let us know in your RSVP.
There are 10 back in sites with water, sewer, & 20-amp electric.
We’ve got some loaner gear. Just note this in your RSVP.
We’ve reserved the entire campground for Friday and Saturday nights.
If you want to stay Thursday or Sunday/Monday or longer, let us know when you fill out the RSVP form and we’ll coordinate.
Absolutely. Check out the “Travel” section of the website for recommendations.
Just remember: no shuttle + no rideshare.
The RSVP form allows you to request your desired lodging type. Once we receive it, we’ll reach out to confirm your spot and share cost details for the nights you’ll be joining us. We'll assign spots and be in touch with you after the RSVP deadline.
What’s included with the cabins?
Included:
Bed linens
Electric space heater
Hot plate, fridge, microwave
Coffee percolator
Basic dishes + cooking utensils
Close access to the bathhouse (toilets, sinks, showers)
Dishwashing station
Not included:
Towels (don’t forget them!) We will bring towels for the folks flying into Colorado.
Nice to have:
a fan for warm days.
YES! The bathhouse is open 24/7 with free showers (2 per side).
There’ll be lots of guests, so plan your shower time and don’t worry about a little dirt—this is camp!
Yep—potable water is available at the bathhouse.
There’s a 24/7 dish station on the outside of the bathhouse.
No, you'll need to bring all the ice you'll need. Closest store is 25 minutes away.
Yes… if there’s no fire ban.
Every campsite & cabin has a fire ring
We’ll host a group campfire each night. If open fires are banned but propane fire pits are allowed, we'll have a handfull that we'll fire up in the group campfire area.
No. Either bring enough options or be okay with being dirty ;o)
Yes! There’s a playground, kid games & crafts, fishing spots. Crack a Spindrift, or a beer, and let ’em run wild.
If the adults get a little rowdy Saturday night, you can tuck the kiddos in and come back and enjoy the party.
We love dogs, but we’d strongly prefer only the wedding couple’s pups Whiskey & Barry stay on site. They are more then enough chaos.
If you can’t find dog sitting arrangements, let us know in your RSVP and we’ll chat.
We’ve got meals, snacks and drinks covered all weekend! If you’d like to help with prep, cooking, or cleanup for everything but the wedding reception, amazing. If not, zero pressure.
We’ll send the menu out a week before. Bringing your own snacks, drinks, or different meals is totally welcome.
We'll also have a small Mercantile where you'll find snacks, toiletries and other neccessities to get us through the weekend.
We are so excited to feed you well all weekend. Sharing meals together is a big part of what makes this feel like camp — and like us.
Because we’re preparing many of the meals ourselves for a large group over multiple days, we ask for your partnership and understanding.
🥜 Life-Threatening Allergies
If you have a life-threatening food allergy, please indicate that on your RSVP and text or call either Griff or Amanda directly so we can talk through it together and plan safely. Your safety matters to us.
🥗 Dietary Preferences & Non-Severe Restrictions
If you have dietary preferences or non-severe restrictions, please share them on your RSVP. We will absolutely do our best to accommodate when we reasonably can, but we may not be able to meet every individual request.
We’ll post the full Camp Osman menu the week before the wedding so you can review it in advance. If needed, we encourage you to bring a few personal items that help you feel fully comfortable.
There will be full kitchens available in two cabins if you’d like to store or prepare anything yourself.
Thank you for understanding that we’re doing this weekend with lots of love, and without planning & catering staff.
Yes & Yes! We’ll also be supplying sparkling water and a variety of adult beverages. If you have favorites, BYO. Just keep it respectful and remember: altitude makes drinks hit faster.
Whatever floats your boat! The ceremony is outdoors in full sun, with a short walk across an uneven field, so wear comfortable and more important...capable footwear (you can change into something fancier at the dance hall).
Attire ideas: Casual dresses, denim/chinos, cute tops, flowy skirts, button-downs, cowboy boots
Want to get fancy? Go for it!
Feel free to dress it up or keep it totally relaxed.
Bottom line: be comfy, be yourself.
Anything your precious heart desires.
Think comfy outdoor attire & layers: shorts/tees for the day, warm layers for night, rain gear just in case.
Colorado weather changes fast, check the forecast before packing.
Because this is a weekend wedding retreat in the mountains with camping, cabins, sunshine, possible rain, cooler nights, and lots of outdoor fun, it’s best to pack with comfort, flexibility, and adventure in mind.
We'll have a small Mercantile where you'll find snacks, toiletries you might have forgotten and other neccessities to get us through the weekend.
