Grand Rapids Homes for All is an independent community effort responding to gentrification. Grand Rapids residents are being wrongfully displaced and it’s time to act. We fight for residents to Reclaim, Remain, and Rebuild our city.
Grand Rapids Homes for All began in late 2015 after numerous discussions about the increase of gentrification in Grand Rapids. An initial public forum was held in February to get some feedback from other people in the community about the urgency of doing this work. Since April, 2016, we have hosted monthly assemblies, held advocacy workgroup meetings, and formed an independent Grand Rapids Tenant Union. We gather with residents from different neighborhoods throughout the city.
Grand Rapids Homes for All is part of the national Homes for All movement. We are a grassroots, autonomous, community organizing effort that works with numerous other organizations on housing issues and housing justice in Grand Rapids.
