Greg was born in Brisbane, and raised in Townsville, North Queensland.
He’s the third son and youngest brother to Glen and Lawrie, with a younger sister Valda. He’s played music since 11 years old, pestering his parents Edna and Les to let him join a brass band, which he did for about 10 years, then at 15 he got into pop/rock bands, singing, playing trumpet, then taking up drums at 16.
Leaving school at 16, he continued playing music while holding a day job, until he was 21, leaving Townsville to pursue a music career up and down the coast of Queensland, then to Melbourne's healthy music scene.
On return to Townsville, now married, worked at a variety of jobs while still playing music, his 2 girls Lisa and Angela were born. He was partners in a music shop for a few years, before moving to the country west of Townsville to start a turf and mango farm, satisfying one of his dreams – to be a farmer.
For the first 9 of those 12 farming years, he didn’t play music at all, but kept his equipment. In the late 1980’s he got back into music via Country Music clubs, entering North Queensland Country Music festival talent quests and winning many awards. As a result of this success, Greg and his band Roadhouse came to Tamworth Country Music festival in 1991, winning the Jazzer Smith Talent Quest at Kmart, which he himself ran from 1995 for 18 years, after moving to Tamworth in 1993.
Greg's first CD “Stop, Look & Listen” was recorded at a Townsville studio in 1992, largely as a result of winning 40 hours recording time at Charters Towers Country Music festival. Since moving to Tamworth, he’s worked club lounges, mainly across NSW and further afield (e.g. Tasmania, Victoria, Queensland, SA) and several Fairstar cruises. Whilst continuing his “live” performances, Greg started doing harmony vocal sessions at Lindsay Butler Studios in 1993, which he still does, and more recently drumming sessions.
His second album “It’s About Time” was originally a collaboration with guitarist Dally Croft in 1997, recorded at LBS Moonbi studio.
In 2001 Greg's twin boys Aaron and Steven were born, and he dotes on them!
