Mike Gregg - Consulting Forester

Michael G. Gregg graduated from Purdue University in May of 1997. Mike's forestry experience began in the summer of 1996 when he worked for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Forestry Division. He inspected Classified Forests and gave landowners advice on their woods depending on their objectives.

After graduating from Purdue University, Mike worked for Mead Paper Company in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. His job duties there included marking property lines and examining pine plantation health.

In October of 1997, Mike began working full-time for Joe Schuerman, a professional consultant forester near North Vernon, Indiana. He assisted Joe in approximately 40 sales covering 1500-2000 acres, and gained experience working for Joe in tree planting, timber appraisals, and TSI.

Mike began Gregg Forest Services in February of 2000, offering a full range of forestry services. His goal "is to help forest landowners realize and maximize the value, use, and enjoyment of their forest resources according to their objectives. I believe in select/group select harvests and sustainable forest management. A properly managed forest should be able to have a sustainable harvest every 8-12 years, and timber prices principally are on the rise on a yearly basis. My area of expertise is growing and maintaining sustainable forest for a maximum growth and value over time."

Student Interns

Gregg Forest Services looks to always be improving the forestry community in Indiana. To contribute to that goal we employ Forestry and Natural Resources students to aid them in their education.

While working for Gregg Forest Services they learn about different aspects of forest management and what it takes to run a small business.
