Greg Guest is an applied social scientist, with more than 25 years of experience in public health research and evaluation. Throughout his career, Dr. Guest has worked across all four of the major research sectors - non-profit (FHI360), government (CDC), academic (UNC) and corporate/for-profit. He is currently a research consultant, serving as an advisor for several large qualitative and mixed-methods research projects. 

Dr. Guest’s research activities span 16 countries, including the United States, and cover the spectrum of study designs, from traditional ethnography, to population-based surveys, to randomized controlled trials (and most everything in between). Guest specializes in mixed methods research design and implementation.

During his career Greg has been awarded two R01 grants (National Institutes of Health), three grants from the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and has been the PI on more than a dozen research studies funded by USAID and private foundations. 

Guest's managerial experience includes directing a global health research department, a research and evaluation unit, and leading dozens of research and evaluation teams in both domestic and global settings.  

Capacity-building has been a continuous thread throughout Dr. Guest's career.  He has mentored dozens of colleagues and trained more than a thousand researchers from a diverse range of backgrounds, on the design, conduct, dissemination, and utilization of research.  He has published five research methods’ textbooks (currently writing a sixth), 35+ peer reviewed articles, and numerous books chapters.
