After a call appears, it will go away after around 2 minutes. Even though the navigation point is gone, the fire is still there. To fix this, when you get a call, make sure to check cad for the location as soon as you can, and keep in mind where you are going as you drive to the call. You can also try using your phone's navigation to get to the call.
Promotions are based on many things, some being consistent activity throughout the week, competence on the job, and dedication to the department.
No worries! Contact an HR member and we will remove it for you. Keep in mind, depending on the situation, your whole shift may be removed. Remember to end it so this doesn’t happen!
If 2 LR firefighters are online, share a firetruck. MR Firefighters may choose to share the firetruck, or use their MR-specific vehicle. If 3+ firefighters are online, you may split into no more than 2 firetrucks. The highest rank gets to drive!
The Horlock Velocity Fire Rescue can weigh up to 53,000 pounds with a full tank. With this in mind, it would be extremely dangerous to drive over 85 mph. Often, Fire Trucks will have a speed limiter of 60 or 70 mph to prevent tipping over. We decided to give you a bit of leeway in speed.
In this situation, you are required to yield to the school bus. Slow down to around 5-10 mph or stop. Once you see that no children are crossing the road, you may continue responding to the scene.
This rule was put in place based on Wisconsin Law: “A vehicle that approaches a stopped school bus that is displaying flashing red warning lights, must stop not less than 20 feet from the bus and remain stopped until the bus resumes motion or the operator extinguishes the flashing red warning lights. Failure to do so could result in a fine between $30 and $300.”
