Why do we need to take action ASAP?

The Earth's temperature has risen by an average of 0.11° Fahrenheit (0.06° Celsius) per decade since 1850, resulting in a total increase of about 2° F.
The 10 warmest years in the historical record have all occurred in the past decade (2014-2023)
Human activity, especially greenhouse gas emissions, is considered the dominant cause of temperature increases, leading to regional and seasonal temperature extremes, reduced snow cover and sea ice, and intensified heavy rainfall.
By 2060, the cost of inaction on climate change is predicted to reach a staggering $44 trillion, with the highest anticipated GDP losses in the Middle-East, Northern, and Sub-Saharan Africa, and South and Southeast Asia.
