Speed and efficiency are the name of the game in the restaurant industry. The expediter is the most organized person in the kitchen. Calling and commanding the kitchen staff in the absence of kitchen leadership, the expo is also responsible for attending to the details of an order, making sure that the marinara is on the side, the burger is only cooked to a medium temperature, and so many more things, but you do have to be outspoken enough to call the line out on their oversights. Simultaneously, you'll be organizing final plates for food runners and making sure they know where everything is going to. This is a high-intensity, high-speed role.
Expectations
Maintain cleanliness of the window at all times.
Be able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted. That's roughly a commercial bag of rice or a container of soda syrup.
You must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
You must be able to issue complex instructions in a written form.
You must be able to issue basic & complex instructions in a verbal form, simplifying when possible.
You must we willing to work in a loud, hot environment.
Should be used to being on your feet for up to 5 hours at a time.
Must be able to read a ticket
Must be able to adhere to all Serv-Safe Guidelines. If you don't know them, that's okay - we'll teach you.
Rate of Pay: $20 per hour
