As a way to connect, Barbara and Andrei came up with the idea of playing "Secret Friend" sort of a "Secret Santa" for the people familiar with it, for the others, well, let me tell you all about it..
Each every one of us has a secret friend and they cannot discover it.
The goal is to gift our secret friend with nice notes, sweets and whatever we can come up with in order to express kindness, share moments and grow the friendship.
It's funny to see everyone trying to guess their secret friend and be surprised with little gifts.
Let's see what happen in the next week, will we discover our secret friend?
We will keep you posted!
10th - 11th Feb
During the second week, we separeted in groups to experience Greenville at 360 degrees: some went to the forest to continued the previous work and they started building some fences with the creepers we collected last week. Some continued to dig a big hole in the ground (sigh!) but they finished (yey!), in order to run the pipes of a sewage treatment tank.
The botanical garden looks better and better every day thanks to our hard work!
The greenhouse looks like Mars thanks to the people moving a lot of sand and its last parts were painted.
12th - 14th Feb
The rain came and we mostly did some light work: some people worked at the Botanical Graden website and logo. Others painted old wood signs to restore them and make them playful!
Because we are very efficient, Barbara and Adrei offered us a free day on Friday! To make it even more magical it was a snowy day. This changed the atmosphere of the place and make it like a fairy tail. Perfect to do a snow battle ;)
Free time
The fun continues after the work, we spend our free time checking Samobor city center, trying local food and going for a walk in the forest. We also enjoyed some cards and role games, chatting, dancing and getting to know each others.
We are also learning to take our alone time and enjoy quiet moments.
Plitvice
On Sunday we finally arrived at Plitvice, a national park that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. The place was splendid with the snow! There are a lot of waterfalls, lacs and forests. We even took a boat to get from one side to the other. Even if it was freezing and almost everybody fell, we really enjoyed this day in this treasure of Croatia.
Rastoke
This weekend the whole group went to Plitvice but stopped at Rastoke on the way. With 2 cars and a rented van, we have travelled the Croatian roads. Rastoke has an atmosphere of a fairy tail with the small wooden houses and the waterfalls.
