Small but Mighty 

A collaboration between Greenhaven Artists and Vanda Gallery

Small art works for an upcoming holiday art show at the Vanda Gallery in New Rochelle, NY.

Up to 4 pieces in painting, mixed media, sculpture and photography. Submissions should capture the essence of joy, playfulness and energy in a compact format.

2D artwork measuring  8"x8" or 10  x 10”  or 12"x12".

Sculptures must fit in a 12"x12"x12" cube. (max)

The maximum recommended price for the artwork is up to $500.

Dates:

Exhibition Dates: November 23 – January 5th, 2024.

Submission deadline : Oct 10. Deadline Extension: October 20th

Notification by email: Oct 27. You will receive an email with the title of the artwork(s) accepted in the show.

Deliveries: Nov 1th to 7th, During gallery hour: Closed Sunday and Monday, 11-5pm Tuesday through Friday, 12-4pm on Saturday

Opening Reception: December 7, 5–7 pm in-person

Pick up artwork: January 6 and 7th, 11–5pm.

Artists who do not retrieve their work will be charged a storage fee of $5.00 per day. Works remaining after 30 days will become property of Vanda Gallery. 

Application Requirements

Call for artists living or working in Westchester County, NY.

Application

• Artist statement  (1000 characters max)

• Artist bio (1000 characters max)

• 4 Images of your work: artist first and last name_Title_Size_medium_price

2D artwork entries: one image per artwork, crop to the image, no frame, no background

3D/sculptural entries: You can submit one image per artwork, we suggest submitting one image that includes two views, no background.

Size requirements: 8x8”, 10x10” or 12x12”.  Art under or over the size requirement will not be  accepted.

Price max: $500

Paintings and mixed media must be on gallery wrapped canvases (1.5 deep no frame needed) 

Photo, digital art, watercolors and other works on paper must be framed (frame size: 8x8”, 10x10” or 12x12” . Gallery wrapped not required).

Original artwork only. No giclées or reproductions. Editions are acceptable if they are original works such as printmaking, photography or limited original digital art.

Artwork must be for sale.

Delivery of Accepted Work:

Work(s) must be hand delivered to Vanda Gallery between the hours stated under Exhibition Calendar. All work must be ready for installation. Wall hung work must be securely wired. Artwork must be easy, and ready to install. No substitutes will be accepted for works approved by the jurors. 

The artist must bring or email the signed consignment contract before or upon delivery. If a representative of the artist delivers, the artist must call ahead to give the representative’s name. Apply only if you can arrange delivery on the specified delivery dates.

Bring an artist statement and resume for the exhibition binder. (remove your personal address on your resume)

Sales:

40%  goes to Vanda Gallery, and 60% to artists. Sales will be paid to artists in 10 days after the exhibition ends.

Liability and Image use Regarding Work Submitted: 

Precaution will be taken to safeguard all work from loss or damage, but neither Vanda Gallery or Greenhaven artists nor anyone connected with this exhibition will be responsible for loss or damage from any cause. Artist permits Vanda Gallery or Greenhaven artists to use images(s) of accepted works for the show promotions.
