Mission:
Address the prevalent environmental issues in the Greater Birmingham Area, engage more youth in community service, and education them on the importance of environmental responsibility.
What We Do:
Green Earth Society (GES) is a service-based environmental and STEM club at Spain Park High School. We conduct cleanups, water tests, and remove invasive plant species.
Provide service and STEM opportunities to students to increase community engagement and create youth leaders in service.
We have around 100 members that are a part of the club.
Our service is concentrated around the Greater Birmingham Area.
To date, we have cleaned 2000+ pounds of trash in 5 cities around Birmingham and removed around 500 pounds of invasive plants in Hoover.
We conduct Bacteriological water testing for E.coli levels and Chemical water testing or Phosphate, Nitrogen, and Dissolved oxygen levels.
