The inspiration behind the Environmental Club came from Rahul Karthik, a senior at Spain Park High School, whose personal experiences in South India sparked a deep passion for environmental sustainability. After witnessing the devastating effects of improper waste disposal and water treatment in this region, Rahul felt compelled to become an advocate for change. Determined to make a tangible impact, he founded the Environmental Club as a way to channel his passion into action. His vision for the club goes beyond simple activism; he sees it as a platform to educate his peers about the importance of preserving the environment while making community service and leadership opportunities more accessible. “By creating a school-based environmental club, I can not only help the future generation understand the necessity of maintaining a healthy environment but also use my interest in problem-solving to create a tangible change," Rahul explained.
