Surrender

The human-animal bond is at the heart of everything we do at Greenbrier Refuge. In a perfect world, all  companion animals would live long, safe, full lives with their gaurdians in their forever homes... but as we all know, this world is far from perfect. Life happens. Circumstances change (often unexpectedly). Animals end up in bad situations. There are millions of reasons why companion animals end up at sanctuaries, and we understand that.

That being said, we ask gaurdians who are considering surrending their companion to an animal sanctuary to utilize and fully exhaust all educational and financial resources first before contacting us or another rescue organization. Re-homing ANYONE -- human or animal -- is a stressful, traumatic event that should only be considered as a last resort in cases of emergencies, abuse/neglect, or other tough situations that prevent guardians from being able to provide the necessary care for their companions.

• < 3 Silkie or Bantam Roosters

• < 3 Cornish Cross Hens (Female Chickens Only)

• 2 miniature horses
