COMPLETE MERIT BADGES, PREPARE FOR SUMMER CAMPS, OR DISCUSS BUILDING A PROFESSIONAL ARCHERY TEAM WITHIN YOUR TROOP!
Please have one representative of your group schedule an Initial Assessment so your coach can go over any expectations and develop your group lesson plan for you.
For MERIT BADGE REQUIREMENTS (See Requirement List Here):
Individuals:
Please contact your coach with a list of requirements you need to fulfill. Some requirements may be completed remotely or without having to physically go to a range! (For quick virtual sessions, or requirements that do not require travel/in-person assistance, GBAC services may be provided as a free complimentary service.)
Your coach can provide come of the necessary shooting and non-shooting related equipment needed to fulfill a majority of the requirements for an additional fee/reimbursement of supply costs. The official online, and most in-person Scout Shops also provide merit badge supplies. Feel free to consult your coach prior to making any purchases.
For Scouts under the age of 18, please add your guardian or approved adult leader into any email or telephone communication per BSA and USA Archery youth safety guidelines.
Groups:
Please have an adult leader contact the coach with an estimated group size, if you have your own equipment, and any accommodations you'll need. PLEASE specify if you're looking to book a merit badge completion/partial completion session (~3-4 hours) or a basic archery experience session (~1-2 hours).
If there are students with partially-completed "bluecards" for the Archery Merit Badge, please have them contact the coach directly (see "Individuals" information above).
There is only limited equipment available for loaning so larger groups (4+) will need to supply their own equipment or organize an event at an approved range with equipment rentals available.
Additional Notes:
Classes will be taught primarily with barebow recurve bows. Many local scouting programs have recently shifted to using Hoyt Genesis bows, which are a simplified "compound-style" bow, but is not common nor ideal for real-world archery applications such as target archery (outside of NASP competitions), field archery, or hunting.
Students who bring their own equipment will have lessons catered to them, and your coach will provide examples of different types of bows to help fulfill badge requirements, but students will not be allowed to use them.
