Goals:

• Teach contemporary Girl Scouts the traditional skills: knots, lashing, trailing, tent camping, fire building, outdoor cooking, singing, etc.

• Continue to keep the Girl Scout oral traditions alive through ceremonies, songs, poems, pledges, graces, skits.

• Engender the love and respect of the pre-technology, natural world.

• Support the ongoing values of Girl Scouts; respect for others, for one’s self, and for the natural world.

Objectives:  

• Unite Girl Scout alumnae through a functioning organization for fun, networking, and personal growth.

• Encourage the establishment of new chapters while allowing each chapter to be autonomous, with the right to determine its own structure and programming. Each chapter will learn how to best serve its own council, troops, and girls. A chapter or interest group within the chapter can determine what activities to offer and projects to support (if any). Green Hat members should be free to choose the activities that are fun for them to do.

• Provide for information to flow between members and chapters through newsletters, social media, website, etc.

• Encourage members to interact at national triennial events. The first event was in 2012.

Uniform:

• Any style green hat: cap, cowboy, bandana, visor, etc.

• A white polo shirt with collar.

• Navy blue or dark green pants, skirt, etc.

• Green clover print scarf or tie, or a Girl Scout scarf is worn.

• The Green Hat pin is worn on the collar.

• Girl Scout insignia is worn on a green insignia tab: felt or grosgrain.

• The Green Hat patch may be sewn or glued on hats, sweaters, or shirts or worn on a string or bolo tie about the neck. ...etc.

Colors:
