Chapter Guidelines
Word Count: 6,000 to 8,000 words, excluding abstract, references, tables, figures, and appendices.
Structure: Each chapter should include an abstract (maximum 250 words), an introduction, and a conclusion section. The remaining sections can be organised as appropriate to suit the nature and structure of the chapter you intend to write.
Please ensure that the content of your chapter, particularly your findings and implications, aligns with the scope of the book, which focuses on exploring how financial technology is transforming sustainable finance, climate finance, ESG investing, and inclusive green growth.
Please note that the chapter you submit must be original, must not have been published elsewhere previously, and must not be submitted for publication or published elsewhere in the future.
Numbering: All sections and sub-sections of the chapter must be clearly and sequentially numbered.
Tables and Figures: Each table should include a self-contained explanatory note, and all tables and figures should be appropriately numbered and consistently formatted.
Please follow this Key Style Points guideline of Springer Nature when formatting your chapter.
Referencing: Use APA style for all in-text citations and the reference list. (Reference examples)
IMPORTANT NOTE: The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or large language models (LLMs) to generate any part of the chapter content (including text, statistics, figures, or tables) is strictly prohibited, except for language editing purposes (e.g., grammar and style improvements). Authors will be required to formally confirm compliance with this policy at the time of submission.
Once we receive your full chapter submission, the review process will begin promptly. Final acceptance decision, based on the quality and relevance of your chapter, will be communicated by 15 October 2026. Reviewer feedback will be provided to all authors, regardless of the acceptance decision.
If your full chapter is accepted for the next stage, you are then required to submit the revised and properly formatted version by 30 November 2026. A formal acceptance letter will be issued as soon as possible, provided the final chapter meets our quality standards. Please note that chapters may still be rejected if they do not pass the final review and editorial process.
All authors of chapters accepted for final inclusion will be required to submit a Publishing Agreement Form. This agreement grants the publisher the necessary rights to publish the work and is a legal requirement under copyright law, providing additional protection for you as the author. The publishing agreement will be shared with authors at a later stage, following acceptance of the final chapter submission.
Using 3rd Party Materials:
Clearing permissions is an important part of the manuscript preparation. We strongly encourage you to begin the permissions-clearing process as early as possible. If any third-party materials are included in your chapter, such as images, tables, or extended quotations, you may need to negotiate with rights-holders to ensure their permissions align with our publishing requirements. Please ensure that the rights you obtain are sufficient to cover those granted to the publisher under your publishing agreement.
Please familiarise yourself with the Springer Nature Guide to Copyright and Permissions, which contains advice on including third-party content or material that you have created yourself and published elsewhere in your manuscript.
Third-party content is defined as any material within the manuscript that is not your original work. Third party content may consist of text passages, figures, photos, poems, song lyrics, screenshots, etc. and be found in many places such as, but not limited to, the Internet, print and online books and articles, theses, annual reports, conference material, photocopies, course packages, and translations. In particular, you should pay close attention to sensitive images containing identifiable persons, logos, brands/trademarks, images from agencies, or from the Internet as well as text content such as song lyrics, poems, interviews, social media content and references to commercial entities.
As author, you are responsible for clearing the rights for any third-party content. We recommend keeping all quotations and inclusion of copyrighted material to a minimum wherever possible, as gaining permissions can be time-consuming and expensive for the author.
To obtain permission to use third-party material in the manuscript visit the Rights Holder website or the Copyright Clearance Center Marketplace. If the material is not found, please exert your best efforts to use our Permissions Request Form and/or Release Request Form (to obtain permission from interviewees or other identifiable individuals or the owners of identifiable property in source material) for your request. If the rights-holder issues their own form, please ensure that the document they provide includes all Required Rights listed in the ‘Guide to Obtaining Permissions’ section in our Springer Nature Third Party Permissions Guidelines.
