As indicated by the project title, the project tacked environmental issues in a multitude of ways. At the start of the project, a virtual meeting was held to assign the various responsibilities of the partner schools, as well as design logos, posters, a website and social media accounts to raise awareness for the project. Apart from that, prior to each mobility, virtual meetings were held to make proper preparations for the corresponding mobilities. Furthermore, both the Portuguese and Belgian teams organised a webinar to address the issues of climate change and the Swedish partner also conducted extensive carbon footprint calculation studies. During the mobilities between the different partner countries, a large focus was put on workshops to achieve climate change awareness and the use of green technologies/robotics to investigate potential solutions towards a more eco-friendly future.
Results: What results do you expect your project to have?
Although the project did not plan to develop material results or related dissemination activities, during the project implementation we produced practical teaching materials that can be used at school. These are:
- video-lecture provided by a university professor showing the effect of climate change on weather, the importance of these changes on living organisms.
- educational material/lesson plans provided by each partner to be translated to classrooms for everyday use.
Apart from that, after every mobility, a feedback loop was implemented in which students/teachers filled in an evaluation form about the past mobility. That way we could verify if the projected results were obtained by the mobility and if students/teachers experienced a change in their way of thinking about green solutions toward a better future and if they increased their motivation to implement these solutions in their everyday life.
Digital fighting with climate change : The project's first face-to-face international activity will take place in Braga, Portugal. The meeting will include two teachers and three students from each institution. The meeting's theme is "Digital Figthing Against Climate Change." A variety of methods will be used to provide participants with both theoretical and practical support. Participants will be able to participate in lectures, team activities, and case studies to ensure that they receive an integrated education.
