With GREEN-95, we aim to eliminate the tradeoffs between efficacy and environmental impact in current mask designs. The materials behind reusable cloth masks are not effective in filtration, yet they also support the water-intensive cotton and dye industry. N95 masks are effective in filtration, yet is composed of unsustainable materials, mostly polypropylene fibers. Therefore, we aim to create a mask that can be sustainably produced with minimal environmental impact while still being able to filter 95% of particulates as the N95 does.
