Our classroom community plan is built on the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and capable of success. Students help create our classroom agreements, giving them ownership of expectations centered on kindness, responsibility, effort, and respect. When challenges arise, we focus on understanding the cause, problem-solving solutions, practicing better choices, and offering a fresh start rather than punishment. We also celebrate growth as a classroom community through meaningful shared experiences—not prizes or point systems—while partnering with families to help every child become a confident, capable, and kind individual. 

Each student is provided a personal planner at the start of the school year. Every afternoon, we will record important reminders and daily homework assignments. 

It's the student's responsibility to bring back the planner and homework folder each day

Each day we will have a mid-morning snack. Please make sure your child eats a filling breakfast (whether at home or in the cafeteria upon arrival) to help fuel their morning ahead of snack time. 

It is also equally important that your student pack a water bottle and snack each day. A healthy snack is always BEST!

We love celebrating birthdays in our classroom! 

Please email me with at least 2 to 3 days advance notice. (This allows me to plan ahead and notify you of any possible class number changes.) We will enjoy treats at an appropriate time during their special day!

Guidelines for Birthday Treats:

• 26 nut-free treats (this # is based on the start of year ONLY)

• Store-bought (no homemade items)

• Individually wrapped -or- easy to hand out (no sheet cakes 🤪)

Summer Birthday?:

You have TWO options...

1. ) Bring in treats on their half-birthday* (or)

2. ) Bring in treats towards the end of the year*

*I especially ask for a heads-up with these unique and unexpected additions to our classroom calendar.
