Marian Medal - The Mary, the First Disciple program is designed for young Catholics, grades 7-10, to enable them to "proclaim the greatness of the Lord.” This is accomplished by actively involving the participants in an understanding of Mary as a model of openness and spirituality—a woman of the church. Through various projects, discussions, and liturgical celebrations over a period of months, the participants are provided with a unique opportunity to develop new insights into their personalities, friends, parents, and the world around them.
The Spirit Alive - The Spirit Alive program is designed for Catholic youth in high school (grades 9-12) who are in the senior level of Scouting. It assists them in discovering how the Holy Spirit moves in their lives, calling them to greater participation in the church’s ministry.
Missio - The Missio program is designed for students in grades 11-12. The program invites young people to explore discipleship and their own religious identity. Missio was jointly created by the Pontifical Mission Society in the United States and the NFCYM.
This course is intended for Scouts to work on and complete these emblems. For any questions please contact the Catholic Committee on Scouting at info.grccscouting@gmail.com
This workshop will provide an opportunity for members of all Faiths to join together to strengthen ties with the Scouting area. From the Catholic faith point of view, it develops and enhances the spiritual dimension of Scouting in the World Scout Movement. Hundreds of youth and adults have attended this workshop over the years.
The International Awareness Workshop also offers an excellent chance for participants to meet some or all of the requirements for earning the Religious Activity Award for the International Awareness in the Catholic Church for all ages (youth and adult) of the American Heritage Girls, BSA Scouts, Girl Scouts and Camp Fire Girl programs.
This is a great chance to meet priests, deacons, religious sisters and lay people who have been involved with missionary work, vocations, World Youth Day, and International Scouting events. Patches, pins, and medals will be available for purchase ($1-15 depending on age level earned).
