Helped design the basic architecture for our game systems and managers to organize our code base and optimize our game for Nintendo Switch
Designed and prototyped various player movement systems and mechanics as our game iterated and changed
Worked with designers to understand requirements and implement gameplay features
Built tools to assist designers in creating various content
This project has been a great experience in creating a flexible system capable of adapting to new requirements for player movement and abilities. The design and goals of this game have fluctuated much more than any other project I've been a part of, and as a result I've had to architect my code so that it can handle a variety of functionality as well as allow for changes and adaptations to the movement and abilities without altering how they interact with code for the other major aspects of this game. Despite frequently changing requirements, I'm very proud to say that the core systems I've built for both movement and abilities have been able to handle our changes with relative ease, and are largely the same as they were 3 or 4 major iterations ago despite drastic changes to our gameplay.
