And that's a wrap one another great summer research program! On July 16, 2026, Madison Spiers (BCMB '27), Martin Mbonye (BCMB '29), Eden Rovner (CHEM '27) and Mariam Abdelrady (BCMB '27) presented their work at the 17th annual Landmark Conference Summer Research Symposium. This conference was extra exciting because we were able to host it at Goucher College! Madison, Eden, and Mariam presented their first ever oral presentations on PFAS-microplastic interactions in soil, microplastic oxidation, and SPE method development for PFAS detection. Martin presented a poster detailing his work on PFAS-microplastic interactions in soil. Amazing work everyone!

Another productive summer in the Gray Lab! On July 10, Madison Spiers (BCMB '27), Eden Rovner (CHEM '27), Mariam Abdelrady (BCMB '27), and Azhar Tanat (CHEM '26) presented posters at the 16th annual Landmark Conference Summer Research Symposium at Elizabethtown College. We had a variety of research presented including PFAS-MP interactions in soil, solid phase extraction method development, and artificial aging of plastics using UV radiation. A fun day topped off with a musical singalong on the drive home!

Dr. Gray traveled to Boston in March to present a poster at Pittcon 2025. I love getting to share the work of our excellent undergraduate researchers at Goucher College, including Gadi Bloomensteil ('27), Mariam Abdelrady (BCMB '27), and Ben Levine (CHEM '25).

Our summer research program ended with wonderful poster presentations at the 15th annual Landmark Conference Summer Research Symposium at Juniata College on July 18. Both Mariam Abdelrady (BCMB '27) and Gadi Bloomenstiel ('27) presented their work on PFAS-MP interactions in soil. Great work this summer!

On May 10, 2024, Annika Reed (CHEM '24) and Honey Townsend (CHEM '24) presented their research at the annual Capstone Symposium at Goucher College. Thanks for helping get these research projects off the ground. 

I think they both win the unofficial award for the most creative presentation title!
