Dr. Dennison and his Pet Projects

Dr. Clint Dennison is the owner of Plateau Valley Animal Hospital and a veterinarian with a strong rural background and broad experience. After graduating from Plateau Valley High School in 1985, he served six years in the U.S. Air Force before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2000 and completing a surgical internship at the University. After completing his internship, Dr. Dennison spent two years working at an equine facility in Oregon before establishing his own equine referral hospital in Temecula, California. Over the next five years, he specialized in equine emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and reproductive care.  

In 2009, he returned with his family to Collbran, Colorado, to start Plateau Valley Animal Hospital. The practice began in a shed on his property, moved to the former human medical clinic in 2015, and then to its current log cabin location in Collbran in 2018. In 2019, he expanded services into Garfield County with a satellite clinic in Silt, which moved to its current building in Rifle in 2024.  Throughout this growth, Dr. Dennison has remained focused on providing honest, personal, and accessible veterinary care while building lasting relationships with clients. 

It is through these relationships that he recognized many elderly clients on fixed incomes struggle to afford unexpected veterinary care for their pets. This led to the creation of the Gray Hair Pet Care program, the first of Dr. Dennison’s Pet Projects. In the future, he hopes to expand his Pet Projects to include additional programs, such as support for law enforcement and military working dogs and certified service animals.
