Gravity Theory Trust (GTT)

Supporting research in theoretical gravitation

Mission statement

The trust is a UK registered charity that has been established for the advancement of science, specifically theoretical gravitational physics including unified theories of gravity and other forces, and the advancement of education in these areas.

The scientific trustees responsible for engagement with theoretical gravitational research are:

Gary Horowitz (UCSB)

Toby Wiseman (Imperial College)

Opening Workshop

A generous donation allowed the GTT to support the scientific workshop exploring `Fundamental aspects of gravity' which was held at Imperial College London, August 8-12th 2022.

Current Activity

In light of the absence of in-person interaction over the last few years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are providing funds for established researchers at academic institutions to organize focussed workshops in new and exciting areas of theoretical gravitational research. We anticipate yearly calls for funding.

*** Announcement ***

We are now inviting applications to hold (in-person) meetings in 2024. The deadline for applications is 1st Feb 2024. Details for how to apply may be found here.

Past meetings we have funded

Our first call which was last year resulted in the funding of seven very successful international research meetings;
