Weekend in Brooklyn

Besides the many, many lists on the web showcasing the best of the five boroughs. Here are some things close to Brooklyn College

1) Coney Island Beach and Boardwalk: Quaint but still great for the kids.

Head straight down Ocean Parkway till you get there. Ocean parkway is to the East of Ocean Avenue and is a much bigger street. Brooklyn Aquarium is also near Coney Island.

2) Prospect Park: The big park in the center of Brooklyn

It houses the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and the Prospect Park Zoo. Go north on Flatbush (other side of Brooklyn College) till you get there.

3) One World Trade and the 911 monument and Battery Park

Take Ocean parkway to the Battery Tunnel when you come out you will be at One World Trade. Head over to Battery Park for a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty.

4) Staten Island Ferry

Take the Staten Island Ferry from Battery Park to Staten Island and back for a terrific boat ride that is free.
