Members of the garden are assigned a Household Plot in exchange for signing the membership agreement and paying a membership fee ($60/yr). The garden has 25 HH Plots, all of which are in use by members for the 2022 garden year.
We welcome inquiries about garden membership, so if you're interested in a plot, do reach out! The garden's membership coordinator will keep a waiting list. Contact us at contact@grantparkcommunitygarden.com or use the Contact Page to inquire.
Yes! We welcome community members who are interested in gardening with us. About half of the garden's growing space is dedicated to growing food to donate to food banks or food kitchens. Volunteers may coordinate with members of the garden to help with projects in those spaces. We usually ask volunteers to join us for one of our twice-monthly work parties to become oriented with GPCG. Send us an email at contact@grantparkcommunitygarden.com or use the Contact Page to get started.
The goats who live next door to the community garden are owned by our neighbors at 964 Grant Street. The goats do a lovely job of preventing their steep hillside property from getting too overgrown.
There are indeed two community gardens in Grant Park. They are separate organizations. Our friends at the Grant Park Community Garden - Boulevard are located a few blocks to the east of us at Boulevard SE and Robinson Ave SE.
Our community garden, Grant Park Community Garden - Grant Street, is located at approximately 970 Grant Street SE, between Kendrick Ave SE and The Beacon.
