Other interesting organizations

  • ACTFL or American Council of Teaching Foreign Languages - Is the US organism that deals with performance indicators, in other words, this organization publishes materials that help teachers like me know how to assess student's skills better. Among other things, if you decide to become a member in the future, they have quite a few interesting scholarships you should know about. Check them out. Some are for teachers, but I believe there are a few for students.
  • Fulbright Program - I have meet a couple of people in the past that were able to go through this programs, and they had a great experience. It's intended more for university students, but that might come sooner for you than we think ;)
  • Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, in Portland Oregon - Scholarships. Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund.
  • Oregon Association of Bilingual Education - Aspiring Activist Award.
