The director of orchestras at Grangerland Intermediate is Ms. Anna Miller. Ms. Miller is from College Station, TX and began private violin lessons at 8 years old. Ms. Miller was heavily involved playing and volunteering with her schools orchestra from Middle School all the way through High School. Ms. Miller received the Emerging Young Artist Scholarship Award. This award is awarded by the Brazos Valley Arts Council to a single graduating high school senior in the Brazos County. Ms. Miller received her Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Oklahoma. During her time at OU, Ms. Miller studied with Dr. Gregory Lee, the Concert Master of the OKC Philharmonic and was a part of the University of Oklahoma Symphony all four years.
Prior to teaching at Grangerland Intermediate, Ms. Miller began her career as one of the orchestra directors at Stillwater MS and Stillwater JH in Stillwater, OK, and was the Assistant Director at Doerre Intermediate in Klein ISD teaching grades 5-8 for two years. This is her 5th year teaching and 2nd year at Grangerland. Ms. Miller looks forward to everything the orchestra will accomplish in the 2026-2027 school year!
Ms. Miller's hobbies include reading, composing music, exploring new music styles on the violin such as blues and improvisation, learning guitar, traveling, watching movies, and playing video games such as Animal Crossing, Zelda, and Hogwarts Legacy. She looks forward to welcoming you to orchestra!
