Beardies come in lots of colors and mutations. Below is a list of common terms and what they mean.
Morph - a genetic mutation
Trans (Translucent) - a morph that effects the opacity of the scales, resulting in brighter colors. This mutation also results in a black iris, making the eye look solid black.
Hypo (Hypo melanistic) - a morph that effects the amount of dark pigment in their coloration, resulting in lighter, brighter colors and clear nails.
Witblits - a morph that causes a beardie to be patternless
Zero - a morph that results in a patternless, colorless beardie
Leatherback - a morph that results in a smoother scale surface, with a texture like leather
Dunner - a morph that alters the direction scales lay, causing a rougher texture and appearance
Genetic Stripe - a morph that causes a racing stripe appearance down the spine
Het (Heterozygous) - indicates that while not expressing that morph, they may carry the gene from their parents and may pass it on to their offspring
Normal - wild colored (tan/brown) with no morphs
Citrus - yellow
Fire - red or red/orange
Red Monster - a specific bloodline that created dark red or red/black beardies
Blue Bars - light blue or blue/gray stripes in their pattern
This list is not exhaustive, but does include all morphs/colors we currently work with, as well as other common morphs.
