Mabruenia is aproximately 3,908 feet (1,191 m) above sea level. Mabruenia lies within the Chihuahan Desert ecoregion, and The Rio Grande bisects the Mesilla Valley and passes west of Las Cruces, where Mabruenia resides. There are desert and dry grasslands as well. It is in a cold desert climate, and winters alternate between colder and windier weather, through frontal passages, and warmer sunnier periods.
