The Scholar Guild is one of the main civilian sub-factions within the Graia, standing as the backbone of the civilian higher job market. The Guild was Founded approximately 123 years ago, prior to the Reclamation era. Ever since the founding of the guild, Graia entered an aggressive industrial revolution due to the centralization of pioneers and constant warfare acting as an important catalyst. Through their constant struggle, ever since up until the present day, the Association is behind Graia's greatest and most widely used inventions, ranging from quality-of-life things such as plumbing, bridges, and railways, to heinous war machines that would make the enemy tremble.
The scholar guild is generally composed of Scholars, Researchers, Archeologists, Engineers, High Mages, Professors, and the list goes on. Generally, the Association is a guild containing the great minds of the realm, through which they will be called upon to handle certain matters that would require their skillsets.
The possibilities are vast, really! We give the player the chance to apply their OOC talents in any area they would so desire! Or... whatever they are passioned by, really. You can be a pioneer (engineer), a researcher / alchemist, a medic or a wizard with mastery over a certain type of magic, the list goes on! You can always ask HR+ about the type of scholar you want to be and they will guide you through.
Now, onto the question on what you can do? Once again, the possibilities are vast. You, as a researcher, are able to set out on expeditions to gather information about a certain thing within your domain (eg: an expedition to gather a rare magical mushroom that is in a dark forest, so you can assemble your own party for that), or you can even work in more normal environments, more domestic work. (eg. Teach fellow apprentices how to utilize magic for the good of Graia, or be an engineer ordering workers around to build a road / bridge, OR be a medic managing a military hospital)
The authority internally is determined by a vague rank set, which will be listed below.
Council Personnel
The Headmaster
They’re the ones who leads one of the 4 sectors in the scholar association. They are have the highest authority in their respective sectors
Vice Headmaster
The 2IC of the scholar association, often acting on the same authority as the Headmaster. Oftentimes the vice-Headmaster carries the same weight of word, while also acting as an assistant to the Headmaster as to ease the research and information load for the chain of command.
Managing Personnel
Academicians
For those who have served a long time and have accumulated a lot of experience in their respective sector will be given this rank as a sign of seniority. They are intrusted to teach the less experienced professors. They are also given an option to teach students in prestigious schools that are connected with the scholar association.
Non-Managing Personnel:
Professors
The Grand Archmage is the highest rank in the council. The Grand Archmage is the most highly skilled and experienced sorcerer in the entire scholar association.
Professor's Assisitants
Scholars that show a promising future will be given this rank to expand their knowledge in their respective fields by learning from the professors that they are signed to.
Scholars
New inducted personnel that have yet to show their talent in their respective fields.
Externally is a whole another story! The Scholar Association poses no authority over other subfactions, let alone the army by default. However, the Scholar Association is able to make requests of aid to the Army, in which they will send a team to fulfill their research missions.
Example where a scholar would have authority: The Association sends out a request to the army demanding 2 teams to escort and assist a Professor in finding a valuable artifact guarded by two monsters. The Professor will decide how they will approach the situation and the methods of obtaining the artefact, including direct combat with the monsters if need be.
Example where a scholar would NOT have authority: A scholar professor spontaneously asks a soldier to spar his pupil to train him. Due to no proper request being made, the professor can only ask / request, the soldier being able to accept or refuse at his own discretion.
