Here's a sampling of what we are doing these days!
Annual Education and Training Grant Program
The GIA strongly supports our residents continuing their education. Education and Training Grant Applications become available on February 1st of each year and due by April 1.
Annual Green Up Day
The GIA works with Green Up Vermont each year to coordinate Green Up Day for Grafton. You will find a dumpster at Stevens Ground Maintenance, across from the fire station, with GIA volunteers standing by to help. Choose a section of our roads, take a walk with your family and friends, and help keep Grafton beautiful!
Annual Woods Walk
Join us each fall for a walk through the Hayden Brown Forest. Listen to Bill Brown and others describe the intersection of our area's naturaland human histories. Take the corduroy road to the the famous soap stone quarries and 'mine' a personal souvenir for yourself! The specific date and time will be announced by early September. Stay tuned!
Annual Meeting
The GIA meets monthly throughout the year but the July meeting holds special significance as our 'Annual Meeting'. GIA business, including the formation of the next year's board, takes place but we also always have a special guest speaker with something of interest to the entire community. Stay tuned for information about our next speaker and come join us!
The Village Christmas Tree
One of GIA's many responsibilities in town includes the placing of the lights on the village's Christmas Tree on the Library lawn each year. We used to do this with a step ladder but the tree has grown to the point that the Grafton Fire Department needs to bring their ladder truck!
