The Graduate Symposium will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The revised dates for the symposium are 7-10 April, 2021.

If you are a Ph.D student work in Machine Learning, enrolled in a university in Asia-Pacific region are are interested in attending the Graduate Symposium, please fill out the application form linked here.


The application form requires attention to detail including evaluative questions, please allocate time accordingly.

What to expect at the Graduate Symposium


  • Series of lectures and research discussion sessions led by research leaders. The symposium will cover the latest advances in the field of Machine Learning and related areas in ML Foundations, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing

  • Learning from top AI researchers

  • Engagement with the wider AI graduate community in the Asia-Pacific region


The symposium will be delivered at the graduate level. PhD students with strong foundations in Machine Learning will benefit from the symposium


Registration Fee


Registration is free for the program. However, given the program structure and limited seats, selection will be competitive. Applicants will be selected based on responses to the application form. All applications will be reviewed by the organizing team.

  • Curriculum vitae

  • Details of your academic history (coursework, grades)

  • List of your publications (if any)

  • Programming profile/Project URLs (if any)

  • A statement of research interest (max. 2 pages, including references): be sure to include details of your PhD research direction, past coursework/projects in ML/AI, and your motivation for attending the graduate symposium

Please note that it will not be possible to save the application and resume it at a later stage, so have all the necessary documents and information with you before starting your application. Applications need to be completed in full in order to be considered.
